Eurosite - the European Land Conservation Network (Eurosite) Leads
Conservation Finance Officer (0.8 -1.0 FTE)
1. Eurosite
Eurosite – the European Land Conservation Network is a charitable association with more than 80 members in 26 European countries. Eurosite's vision is a Europe where nature is protected, restored and appreciated by all. We work towards this goal by offering nature managers and landowners opportunities to network internationally and exchange experiences on practical nature management. As the leading European umbrella organisation for natural site managers, we connect organisations and individuals committed to our vision. We believe that the future conservation of European nature can only be achieved through international cooperation. Eurosite is the European regional representative for the (global) International Land Conservation Network.
In recent years, our organisation has grown, and we have built a larger project portfolio and expanded our work on nature finance. The Eurosite network has direct access to land, offering significant potential for investors. The idea for a Eurosite Conservation Finance Accelerator (CFA) was conceived in 2023, and we have secured initial funding for further development. The CFA is a tool to support landowners, land managers, and conservation organisations in building investable restoration project pipelines and engaging with private and blended finance. To continue with the development of the CFA and to enable a more systematic approach to conservation finance, we are expanding the Eurosite Secretariat with the new position – a conservation finance officer.
In 2022, Eurosite switched to remote working. Most staff members are based in the Netherlands, where Eurosite has its legal seat, but we also have employees in Croatia, Poland and Latvia. The Dutch team regularly meets at a co-working office space. In addition, the entire team meets physically several times a year and regularly travels across Europe to meet members, project partners and funders. Within the network, English is our working language.

Contribute to the Conservation Finance Accelerator in the LIFE SUPER EU project that focuses on upscaling peatland restoration in Europe (this project runs until 2030).
- Engagement with private investors. Assist in preparing pitches, scanning the market, and expanding Eurosite’s network of private investors interested in supporting nature restoration. Support our members in their engagement with private investors, corporates, financial institutions, and public authorities interested in financing nature restoration. Contribute to the implementation of a diverse range of fundraising activities.
